Select Bakery brings in the "dough" for TEGH

Select Bakery, a local business at 405 Donlands Avenue celebrated its 5th anniversary raising funds for the Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH) Foundation and the Cardiology Unit.

L to R: Owner Kostas Katsamakis welcomed Dr. Fountas, Justin Van Dette from TEGH Foundation, Councillor Case Ootes and Dr. Petrou at Select Bakery to celebrate the bakery's 5th anniversary last month. Local TEGH doctors were on hand to volunteer at the event. Proceeds from the anniversary weekend were directed to the Toronto East General Hospital and $5,000 was raised to support the Cardiology Unit.

"Accuserv Heating is a local business with a big heart and we are delighted with their generosity," said Teresa Vasilopoulos, President of the TEG Foundation. "The local business support is so important to the success of East Toronto's community hospital."
A number of special guests volunteered from 12 pm to 2 pm on Saturday, May 19th, joining staff and working in the kitchen baking a cake and helping behind the counter and interacting with customers.
"TEGH is an important place in our community," added Kostas Katsamakis owner of Select Bakery. "The dedicated medical staff deserve public support and I am pleased to celebrate Select Bakery's anniversary with TEGH."
