Canada’s largest food festival in our own backyard

The world is coming to the 13th Annual Krinos Taste of the Danforth! This year “The Krinos Taste” is featuring wines of the world, music from around the globe, and - as always - the chance to sample the best of the Danforth’s eclectic restaurants. From August 11th through the 13th, the Danforth will be closed to traffic from Broadview to Jones, as visitors take part in the largest Greek festival in North America.
“The Krinos Taste of the Danforth has become one of Toronto’s signature events, attracting a million visitors, including tourists from Europe, the US and across Canada,” said Chris Trahiotis, Chair of the event and owner of Ouzeri. “The restaurants and other merchants along the Danforth are proud to welcome you to our businesses and neighbourhood, and we’ll promise you the world.”
The Krinos Taste of the Danforth features entertainment on the ScotiaBank Stage, including Flamenco, Cuban and of course, Greek performers. Throughout the weekend, the Greek Stage will feature more talented Greek performers. In addition to music, visitors can try their hand at rock climbing and various sports, or spend time in some cool activities. Win tickets to the hottest concerts with Pepsi Access. Sample Clodhoppers while browsing music in the Jam Van. Experience a close shave with the Gillete “Start the Reaction Tour” or get yourself out of jail with Bell Mobility. Visitors can also call anywhere in the world, courtesy of Vonage.
New this year is the Philip Dandurand wine garden, featuring 28 different wines. The Skyy Vodka Martini Lounge, and beer gardens featuring Amstel Light and Heineken (the two most popular beers in Greece) round out opportunities to sample a truly cosmopolitan selection of beverages.
When it comes to food, this year’s Krinos Taste of the Danforth is offering up over 85 tasting tables. Also back this year is the popular “Healthy Eating” area, featuring special products and helpful seminars and advice to help you “Eat Right, Live Long”.
“The Krinos Taste of the Danforth marks what’s best in food, including the exceptionally healthy Mediterranean diet,” said Alex Alexakis, General Manager of Krinos Foods Canada. “From the benefits of quality olive oil, to the wonderful taste of Greek olives, you can find it all at the Krinos Taste of the Danforth”.
